加拿大多伦多的谢拉顿卡德韦尔管弦乐团近日一发电邮给予之合作的声乐家，不点名要求其中身材不够“健美纤瘦”的两人演出时勿穿“紧身”服装，以隐藏她们“饮食放纵”，惹来“羞辱胖者”抨击。

该两位歌手莱昂内（Victoria Leone）和达尼茨（Sydney Dunitz）都个别谴责电邮不恰当，表示愤怒和退出乐团，并要求道歉。事件传开后抨击不断，该乐团管理层道歉、请辞和停止出钱赞助乐团后，宣布解散。

The Sheraton Cadwell Orchestras asked women who were not “fit & slim” to use loose dresses that hide their “dietary indulgences”.

谢拉顿卡德韦尔管弦乐团要求那些身材不苗条的女团员穿宽松裙，以隐藏她们的“饮食放纵”。

The email, signed by Sheraton Cadwell Orchestra management, says, “…although almost all of our vocalists are fit and slim — the way our boutique orchestras would like our front line artists to be — two of our featured singers were not.”

由谢拉顿卡德韦尔管弦乐团签名发出的电邮中提到：尽管我们多数歌手的身材是苗条，这是我们希望身为精品乐团前线艺人能做到的，但其中有两位歌手并非如此。

The management hopes those singers would opt for “less physically accentuating dresses instead,” and that in the future only singers who “know how to dress strategically.”

管理层希望那些歌手会选择以“较少身材突出的裙子”取代，这样以后才能够让歌手懂得战略性穿着。

Dunitz said：“It’s disgusting, it’s ridiculous and it has nothing to do with our vocals. Everybody looks fantastic, dresses according to the dress code. It’s astounding those words were used at all.”

达尼茨说：“太令人感到恶心和可笑了，这与我们的歌声毫无关联。每个人都根据着装要求作好打扮，看起来都很棒。那些所用言词实在教人感到震惊。”

Since receiving backlash, management sent another email Thursday afternoon with a notice of resignation and announced it will be shutting down as a result.  

自从收到反弹后，管理层于星期四下午再发出另一封电邮，宣布请辞和解散。
